Work started early this morning on laying the Trolley tracks across the junction of Skinker and Delmar. I walked by there about 9am, by which time they well under way digging one trench, and a pile of old rails had been excavated.
There was a line of trucks waiting to take the rubble away, and it took less than 10 minutes to fill one and send it on its way.
Coming back about 30 minutes later, they had already finished the first trench and were working on the second. It was interesting to see the old brickwork under the modern road surface, and the remains of the rail ties that had been exposed by the new trench.
I was going to see if I could talk to the foreman or one of the workers, but they were all so engrossed in their work that I decided not to bother them!
