To the North East of London/ South West of Essex runs the Lea Valley.
The River Lea is a tributary of the more famous River Thames, and has a history of being important commercially at the time when inland canals were the main mode of freight transport. No longer important for that reason, the river and the valley it formed are a wonderfully scenic area, much loved by visitors and those lucky enough to live nearby.
A house boat – we saw a few of these boats that people have mane their home moored or about to dock.
This is the part of the Lea Valley we are walking – the Dobbs Weir area
